The Membership Raffle is an incentive for people to become paying members to the Battlestar Wiki. Essentially, we raffle off one or two (or more, depending on the funds available for this, or on the generosity of those backing this raffle initiative) items to our paying members as a way of saying "thank you".

The drawing for this raffle occurs on the last full week of every month, with the "top" or "grand prize" being drawn last.

Prizes

The prizes for the month of March are as

• Two (2) copies of the Season 3 DVD box set OR two (2) $40 USD gift cards to the online retailer of your choice. One box set or gift card per person; exactly two (2) winners.
• Two (2) copies of the Season 3 soundtrack OR two (2) $10 USD gift cards to the online retailer of your choice. One copy or $15 USD gift card per person; exactly two (2) winners.
• One (1) year of free membership to Battlestar Wiki/Battlestar Forum (and Battlestar Pegasus!)

Rules

To be eligible, you must be a paying member of the Battlestar Wiki.

Additionally, you must have a valid e-mail address on file, as this is how we contact the winner(s). If we do not hear back from you within five (5) business days, we'll redo the raffle to select another winner.

Once you have won a prize, you are ineligible to win any prizes for twelve months.

How this works

Basically, each month we get paid a commission from Amazon.com US for the sales occurring two months prior. Since the Amazon.com commissions are now earmarked for the raffle, we know ahead of time how much we have at our disposal for the prizes of the raffle.

So the prizes (including their monetary value and number of prizes) are dictated by how many sales we do through the Amazon.com US store. This means that if we don't do any sales two months prior to the raffle month, the first (and only) prize will be the one (1) year extension to the person's membership.
